Haitian-American Super Model Kiki Reveals a Secret to HB

Kiki, also known by her real name Widline Barthelemy  She was born in St. Marc, Haiti and moved to the United States in her mid-teens. She started modeling in her late teens and in October 2008, represented Haiti in the Reina Hispanoamericana beauty pageant where she won Miss Congeniality.

It was the first time Haiti participated in the pageant. In the modeling business, Kiki has done shows for top designers such as Cavalli, Michael Kors, Guess, Diesel, Bebe,... She also can be seen in the latest video single of Sean Paul called "So fine". She is based in Miami. Hopefully, more things will align for her in her career. 

I interviewed yer about a few years ago, she had just started her career. We bring her back now with a much story to tell.


HB- How did you start modeling?

Kiki- I started modeling when I was 15 years old in Palm Beach FL...I didn’t start on the runways like most new faces, I started by meeting photographers and inspiring each other to make awesome pictures. Until I was discovered by a model scout.


HB- What was your first big break in the industry?

Kiki- I was Photographed by Bruce Weber for Bobbi Brown cosmetics.


HB- What has been your favorite job so far?

Kiki- So many, but I just enjoy walking the runway for designers like chanel, chloe, Roberto Cavalli, ect...


HB- What is your dream modeling job? 

Kiki- I am working my dreams jobs ...


HB- When you’re not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?

Kiki- Althought I travel to a lot of beautiful places for work. When im not busy I use that time to travel back to some of those places i go for work and really go throught the cities and street  see all the beautiful things, and try the restaurants.




HB- If you were not a model, what would you want to do?

Kiki- An accountant.


HB- What’s your favorite snack? 

Kiki- Peanut butter jelly sandwich.


HB- Where is your favorite place to travel and why?

Kiki- Paris, because it have so many history and such a romantic place.


HB- What is your all time favorite movie and why? 

Kiki- Pretty Woman... such an amazing story.


HB- What is the worst part of being a model ?

* I hate high heels more than anything. :-)


HB- What is one thing you love about modeling?

Kiki- Fashion!!! So addicted to it...


HB- What do you like in a man?

Kiki- I like someone who can keep me on my toes. That could be from making me laugh, challenging me intellectually, or encouraging me to try new things.

I really appreciate affection. Some guys have a hard time showing affection, and I need that. It doesn't have to be in public, but I like knowing he just wants to touch me throughout the day with a hug, a kiss or just a hand on my back. 

HB- Single, married or in relationship?

Kiki - * ;-).


HB- what make you different from other models today?

Kiki-  I believe that my personality and the ideals and goals i have set in my life.

Kiki- what you see is what you get...

Kiki-  Yes


HB- What is your favorite makeup brand? 

Kiki- Bobbi Brown


HB- What is your favorite hair care tip?

Kiki- Use the entire egg to condition yourhair. If you have dry or brittle hair, use egg whites to moisturize your hair. Use ½ cup of any egg mixture (egg white, entire egg) and apply to clean, damp hair. Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse with cold water.


HB- what is your skin care regimen?

Kiki- I have learned that less is more when it comes to my face. Toners dry my face out so I now stay away from them. I use Kiehl's Ultra Facial cleanser follow by the Kiehl's skin brightening exfoliator. Then Kiehl's Ultra facial cream to moisturize. I get a facial once a month...I drink lots of water too...


HB- Your top 3 favorite Haitian bands?

Kiki- Carimi, Djakout Mizik, Nickenson Prud'homme


HB- Your favorite Haitian dish?

Kiki- Legume with rice and bean.


HB- What beauty product can you not leave home without?

Kiki- My lip gloss, and mascara


HB- What was the experience like at America's Next Top Model? 

Kiki- It was an amazing experience... I was blessed with so many great opportunity from this.


HB- What advice would you give to aspiring models?

Kiki- Listen to your guts. A lot of people will be putting their own experiences on you when you are new, but everyone makes their own path, their own way. So listen to your instincts.


HB- Please tell us something that no one knows about you including your close friends?

Kiki- I don't like to wear underwear..
