Darline Desca was born in Port-au-Prince. From an early age, she showed
a particular interest in music. She listens to popular music from Haiti and the world, but above all develops a strong taste for Jazz music.

It was from 2006 that the singer began an artistic career. While still a university student, she decides to take vocal technique lessons. In 2010, taken in the wake of songs dedicated to the victims of the earthquake of January 12 in Haiti, Darline Desca offers "PA LAGE" which obtains a favorable reception from the Haitian public and earns the artist international recognition. In June 2013, the artist signed in Port-au-Prince his first studio album entitled "A full time".

HB- Tell us how you got started in music?

I am not really sure….lol. I know that I have always loved music and I used to sing in school , church or at the university for extra-curriculum activities.

HB- How many original songs have you released so far in your young career?

I have the album « A Plein Temps » with 11 tracks ; I released a single last year in which I collaborated with my friend and singer Mikaben entitled « Anmwey ». I have other original tracks in my repertoty which will be in my new album soon to be released.

I was very emotional ; I am sentitive by nature. I jumped up of joy when I got the news. Being part of that contest means a lot to me.

HB- So what has the responses been like since the announcement was made?

The feedback has been very positive; many people have had a chance to discover my music due to the contest due because it’s very advertised. Since then, there are many people who have worked with international artists that are now interested in me and sending me their contact information.

Everything will change ; I know it. My life, my career ; everything.

HB- You have been described and defined in so many ways by the Haitian media, how would you define or describe yourself and your music?
Ma musique me ressemble. Elle est mon identité. Et c’est très important pour moi.

Wow !It’s very difficult to define oneself or even talk about oneself. For my music, I would say that it’s World music ; it is a fusion ; it is a medley of traditional rhythm sometime brighten up with a bit of Raggae, Jazz and Soul. What’s important to me is the sensitivity that runs through my body. My music resembles me ; it is my identity and it is very important to me.

HB- Do you remember the very first time you appeared on stage?

But of course ! I was in High School and it did not go well. I was stressed, a bit too shy and I was shaking right in front of the public.

HB- Tell me something people would be surprised to know about you?

There are a lot of things that people would be surprised to learn about me, lol…For exemple I love to have fun at the clubs and elsewhere. I love to cook (Chef Extraordinaire !, lol). When I get mad I am like a powder keg. I can explode anytime ; don’t come near me !

HB- What are your top three favorite artists?
J’aime beaucoup Boukman eksperyans, Ella Fitzgerald et Ayo

I really like Boukman Eksperyans; Ella Fitzgerald and Ayo.

HB- What does the future hold for you?

I am working on my second album scheduled to come out in 2016. I hope the RFI Contest will open doors to the International market. I would love to find a signing label and be able to collaborate with other international artists.

HB- Thank you for your time, any departing words?

Special thanks to you for giving me the opportunity to publicly express myself. My closing words would be to encourage people to motivate their entourage : Friends, familly and acquaintances on social media. I want to thank those who support me however they can ; the public (fans and supportors), musical groups, and solo artists. The media bosses, radio hosts, my friends and family ; thank you, thank you so much ! We have to continue being motivated  and united until victory.
